Driving Impact: Rocky Mountain Solar Co.’s 1st Charity Golf Tournament

On September 2nd, Rocky Mountain Solar Co. hosted our inaugural Charity Golf Tournament, bringing together our team, friends, family, and industry partners for a day on the course with a single goal: giving back to our local community.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we are thrilled to announce that we raised $13,500 for KidSport!

At Rocky Mountain Solar Co., our work is centered around building a sustainable business that can contribute in a meaningful way to our local community. This goes far beyond installing solar modules – it means investing directly in the youth who will shape tomorrow.

Organized sports play a transformative role in a child’s development. Through sports, young people build physical health, self-confidence, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships. However, rising equipment and registration costs mean that many families face financial obstacles that keep kids on the sidelines.

We chose KidSport because their mission aligns directly with our values: ensuring that financial constraints never stand in the way of a child’s ability to play, grow, and thrive.

KidSport was founded in 1993 by to address the growing financial barriers preventing children from participating in community sports. What began as a local initiative quickly expanded into a nationwide movement.

Today, KidSport operates through 11 provincial/territorial chapters and more than 160 local community chapters across Canada (including KidSport Calgary & Area).

Operating under the motto “So ALL Kids Can Play!”, KidSport provides confidential financial grants to cover sports registration fees and equipment for youth aged 18 and under.

KidSport’s reach and impact across Canada and right here in our local community are remarkable. Locally, KidSport has helped nearly 80,000 kids get “into the game”, distributing over $23 million in sport subsidies.

The $13,500 raised from our tournament will directly fund sports registration and equipment for dozens of local children this season!

This tournament would not have been possible without the dedication of our participants, hole sponsors, venue staff, and volunteers. Seeing our community rally together on September 2nd showed what we can achieve when we pool our energy toward a common cause.

We are already looking forward to making next year’s tournament even bigger and better!
