Rocky Mountain Solar Co. was co-founded on January 4, 2021, by four Calgary locals, including the two owners of Lynnwood Roofing Ltd, Justin Cote & Ryan Cornforth.
The collaboration between Rocky Mountain Solar Co. & Lynnwood Roofing Ltd. was purpose-built; Lynnwood’s expertise in commercial roofing paired with Rocky Mountain Solar’s commitment to solar integration meant we could jointly offer “solar‑ready roofs”, ensuring installations that protect warranties and roofing integrity. This has been our top priority since inception.
The Lynnwood Roofing Ltd. ownership group recognized early the solar opportunity in Southern Alberta. Having worked together on prior roofing-plus-solar projects, Lynnwood Roofing Ltd. realized many solar installers lacked roofing knowledge, creating a service gap. That spurred the move to launch Rocky Mountain Solar Co. under Lynnwood Roofing Ltd.’s vantage.
By aligning Lynnwood Roofing Ltd.’s roofing consultancy (via Registered Roof Consultant, Ryan Cornforth) with the solar team at Rocky Mountain Solar Co., we formed a strategic partnership, enabling turnkey roofing + solar solutions; marketed jointly, and supported by cross-company certification such as COR and B‑Corp.
