Your Guide to Seasonal Export Rates

It’s That Time of Year Again!

Spring is finally here, and longer, sunny days are just around the corner.

Of course, spring is much more than April showers and May flowers here at Rocky Mountain Solar Co. For us, this new season allows our customers to change their rates and get the most out of their solar energy systems.

How Does It Work?

If you’re a Solar Club member, or a participating Enmax Seasonal Solar customer, you can advantage of flexible export rates.

In the fall, when days become shorter and solar energy production drops, most solar system owners tend to rely on more electricity from the grid. That’s why programs like Solar Club and Enmax’s Easymax offer low rates for homes and businesses, so they can import electricity at an affordable rate without worrying about their decrease in exports.

During the springtime, when Canadians begin to see more hours of daylight, solar energy owners begin producing more than they can consume and will export excess electricity to the grid. Homes and businesses can then switch to higher rates offered by Solar Club and Enmax Seasonal Solar, so they can earn more for their exports.
